Well yes in a nutshell. html is already allowed but so many people are used to 
forums now they think that forum code is html. How many times have you seen 
posts at like postnuke with stuff like this in them:

and it shows up just like that it's not converted into anything. It looks 
ugly. Well bbcode would really look like this:

[/quote]

or whatever tags you allow, mostly font, b, i, and url, img, handeling. 

Now the next part would be to add to the text field and then yes you are much 
closer to wysiwyg.
