If it doesn't work, I've got a bin script that might help.
It can basically do:

Search eprint dataset for division=A
For every eprint the results list:
- Get the existing divisions
- append Division=B to the divisions array (if it's not there already)
- Commit

Hi Ranju,

If you use the admin search to search for all items in division A, you can then use the "batch edit" feature, displayed on the results page, to append division B to all those items in one go.

(If you've not used the batch edit feature before, I'd suggest trying it out on a very small result set first).

Hi List,



we have a task of adding divisions/department to existing (several hundred) eprints in our IR.



So, currently the items are assigned department/division "A" and now we need to give them Department "A" and Department "B". What would be the most effecient way of doing this?



I know we can always edit individual item from the interface. However I was wondering if there is any other way too, since we have a very large number of items to be edited.
