Hi!

 just update 2.2 to 3 of the kernel version in z_datacitedoi.pl :

$c->{datacitedoi}{xmlns} = "https://eur03.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fdatacite.org%2Fschema%2Fkernel-3&data=01%7C01%7Ceprints-tech%40ecs.soton.ac.uk%7C1f13aa48df6141446bdd08d6d7ab5e0c%7C4a5378f929f44d3ebe89669d03ada9d8%7C0&sdata=MApQwww0i7lMKoc%2FW5XmbZDNE7IOfuouz2z%2Bpw%2BC9rU%3D&reserved=0";
$c->{datacitedoi}{schemaLocation} = $c->{datacitedoi}{xmlns}."
https://eur03.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fschema.datacite.org%2Fmeta%2Fkernel-3%2Fmetadata.xsd&data=01%7C01%7Ceprints-tech%40ecs.soton.ac.uk%7C1f13aa48df6141446bdd08d6d7ab5e0c%7C4a5378f929f44d3ebe89669d03ada9d8%7C0&sdata=q7zpEoW6GwLoUsmnJJJnk7UAX84tfbhd1D7RjW9KOY4%3D&reserved=0";

 This is because they've deprecated and closed new registration for
kernel schema ( https://eur03.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fschema.datacite.org%2F&data=01%7C01%7Ceprints-tech%40ecs.soton.ac.uk%7C1f13aa48df6141446bdd08d6d7ab5e0c%7C4a5378f929f44d3ebe89669d03ada9d8%7C0&sdata=b7Vrgp4YknGsNpdOobS3ODAmVPPQ0SoriqE9wtWVD8s%3D&reserved=0 ) version below 3:

The code in the plugin is compatible with kernel-3 but not kernel-4
(mostly spltting creator name and given and other changes)
