All,

I was wondering if the ePrints files named 'indexcodes.txt' in each ePrint =
document folder should be available outside the system and should be able t=
o be linked directly to for any reason? Obviously these files contain outp=
ut that is not necessarily desirable to look at or read, but may be useful =
for other purposes (?). For example a google search: https://eur03.safelin=
ks.protection.outlook.com/?url=3Dhttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com%2Fsearch%3Fq%=
3Dindexcodes.txt%26rlz%3D1C1CHBF_enUS727US727%26oq%3Dindexcodes.txt&dat=
a=3D01%7C01%7Ceprints-tech%40ecs.soton.ac.uk%7C1a840a72255e40664a7308d76a1a=
5f0b%7C4a5378f929f44d3ebe89669d03ada9d8%7C0&sdata=3DdAQ1gndCWopHWeFsLwf=
BLUfefgZvU5lyVaxzup%2FX2PA%3D&reserved=3D0 results in a few (at least) =
archives hosting these files that I believe are related to the OCR/text ver=
sions of the original uploaded file. I also noted that the oai2 interface =
oai2?verb=3DListRecords shows these files as well in some repositories - no=
t sure if this is also desirable or not.

If the intent is that these indexcodes.txt files should not be available vi=
a URL maybe they should be filtered out in the EPrints/Apache/Rewrite.pm fi=
le?
If they are to be available what was envisioned for these files?

Thanks,
-Brian.
