Hi James,

I recently used a modified version of this tool to get our items from Ethos=
and it worked very well. The modifications I did were mainly to match up a=
few extra data fields and to put information we don't use (e.g. Dewey Deci=
mal classifications) into the notes field.

Hope this helps,
Liam

Ahhh I understand. That's good news!

The BL have just digitised some of our theses as part of a wider project an=
d I'm trying to make sure we can get them all.

Your answer has just answered my next point - will I face the possibility o=
f harvesting ALL of our digitised theses on there. The maximum limit custom=
isation would be helpful, if you genuinely don't mind. I do feel a bit bad =
for so "borrowing" so much of your work (remember the crosswalks and divisi=
onal info from last year).

I think on this occasion I might get them all manually as there are only 20=
items in this first batch, but my aim is to install this tool and graduall=
y harvest all they have from the uni.

Thanks for your help,
James

I might not be the best person to say how it runs in general - hopefully ot=
hers will have some feedback too.

I never got around to creating it as a Bazaar package (it was 7 years ago).

I've got some local customisations to it that might be of use (ordering of =
multiple files contained in the downloaded zip (e.g. vol.1 before vol.2); a=
maximum number of files that will be automatically extracted - sometimes t=
here are *loads* of additional files/appendices; possibly other things).

If people are interested in a Bazaar packaged version, I could possibly mak=
e one (not this side of Christmas though).

Cheers,
John

Hello everyone,

Does anybody know if the "EThOS webservice download tool" is still function=
al?

I've found the page for it after being directed there by the British Librar=

ge on EPrints:
