[EP-underground] Subscriptions (alerts) in Eprints 2

(I just joined the list, so please excuse me if the issue has been discussed
earlier.)

We are in the process of setting up an eprint server for the publications
from our research program in organic farming. 

One of the nice features of the eprints software is the possibility of
subscribing to email alerts on new items in the archive. At least this is a
possibility in the archives running Eprints 1, but I cannot find it in the
ones running Eprints 2 (e.g. in the demo archive).

Is it there - or is it coming in the new version 2.1.
And by the way should we wait a week or two and hope to install 2.1?
