What we currently have is an optional latex formula renderer which
can be used to render the abstract & title channels. It scans them
for anything which looks like latex ($...$ etc.) and replaces it
with an image of the rendered version of the formula.

It's important to differentiate between exporting the metadata and
the documents.

Can you walk me through it slower.

* What metadata do you want a user to submit?
* How would this be stored in the system?
* How would you want it output?
