Correct permissions for FastCgiIpcDir

Hi,

Do we need to chmod 777 the subdirectories under FastCgiIpcDir?

I cannot start httpd with mod_fastcgi unless I give 777 to both:

/var/lib/apache2/fastcgi
/var/lib/apache2/fastcgi/dynamic

What am I doing wrong?  I'm using RedHat Enterprise 3.
