I use fastcgi with C++ a lot.  It works well.  However I developed my 
own libraries for communicating with the server and for doing CGI stuff 
like handling GET/POST variables, file uploads and cookies as well as a 
template language for formatting pages.  I do not know how well general 
purpose CGI libs would interact with fastcgi.

I am not a liberty to release the code I have developed.  I would have 
to get authorization and then spend a fair amount of time isolating the 
generic stuff from the stuff that is very specific the the company I 
work for.  For example all my code assumes a PostgreSQL database is in use.

If you have specific questions I will try to answer.
