mod_fastcgi problem with apache2 (on AMD64)

I get the following error when trying to setup apache2 + suexec + mod_fastcgi

Syntax error on line 9 of /usr/lib/apache2/conf/modules.d/20_mod_fastcgi.conf:
FastCgiSuexec: "/usr/sbin/suexec2" execute access for server (uid 4294967295,
gid 4294967295) failed: execute not allowed

My User and Group directives are correctly filled in, the same goes for the
Vhost specific directives. suexec2 is executable by the apache group, wich
the server runs under, but mod_fastcgi seems to get the uid all wrong. Could
this be related to the fact that i am running a 64bit setup (amd64)?

Kind regards
