IIS and/or Apache2 + FastCGI + PHP4 on Windows

Hello all,

I've been trying to get a stable configuration of PHP 4.4.1 (binary download 
from the PHP site) with FastCGI on windows servers going.

Ideally I would have configurations for both Apache2 and IIS (5.1/6), but 
neither of them will work.

IIS (following the instructions from 
http://phplens.com/phpeverywhere/fastcgi-php) is very unstable. I keep 
getting dllhost.exe application errors, and "COM Surrogate has encoutered a 
problem and needs to close".

Apache2, if I understand correctly, needs a custom built PHP4 binary? Is it 
possible to get this going at all with the binary downloads from the PHP 
site?
