Permission denied errors

Hi,

I'm having problems beting fastcgi to run my ruby cgi scripts on apache. 
The error I'm getting is this:

create (dynamic) server "/var/www/html/cookbook/test.fcgi": bind() 
failed [/tmp/fcgi_ipc/dynamic/b206c13e01be8f54adb360ce3bfb8ef5]
[Tue Apr 11 13:25:06 2006] [alert] [client 10.0.0.50] (2)No such file or 
directory: FastCGI: failed to connect to (dynamic) server 
"/var/www/html/cookbook/test.fcgi": something is seriously wrong, any 
chance the socket/named_pipe directory was removed?, see the 
FastCgiIpcDir directive
[Tue Apr 11 13:25:06 2006] [error] [client 10.0.0.50] FastCGI: 
incomplete headers (0 bytes) received from server 
"/var/www/html/cookbook/test.fcgi"

The permissions on the FastCgiIpcDir are set properly (i've checked and 
even chmod 777 -R it as as well). I have search though the mailing list 
archives and found mention to the fact that having a symlink as the log 
directory may cause problems but I am unable to change this as as soon 
as I replace the /etc/http/logs symlink with a directory the server 
won't boot!
