I'm sorry that nobody had the time and expertise to answer your question, but 
we'd be happy to have you contribute should you find the energy to do so.

Like any volunteer-supported project, people contribute when they have time and 
energy.  Quality of the question, associated environment, question-asker's 
analysis/background, and the reader's ability to actually answer it all factor 
in.  I try to answer when I can - but my paying job and family take precedence.

Obviously, you can (and should) feel free to use or not use FastCGI as you see 
fit.  As do the rest of us - and there are quite a few quiet, happy users from 
what I see.  There are plenty of other solutions for persistant application 
support with web servers that you should use if you don't like FastCGI's support 
network.

Since it's a very small group of people who've written and supported the code 
over the years, on their own time an energy, you might find your posturing to be 
somewhat counterproductive.  Open Source only works when everyone contributes 
positively.  I "take" from the community with the many projects I depend on, and 
contribute back by supporting FastCGI and a few other projects.  It would be 
really nice for other people to contribute, but I don't impugn people's motives 
because they choose not to provide that support.  So, please be nice about it.
