PHP4 as cgi-script

I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but I can't for the life of it run
PHP4 as CGI:

#!/usr/bin/php4-cgi
<?php
      phpinfo();
?>

Results in:
"No input file specified."

googling a bit I set:
doc_root = /webroot/mail.charite.de
and
cgi.force_redirect = 0
but to no avail.

Got some hints for me?
