Update on I18n-ISSUE-4: Language tag references

Hello public-i18n-core,

Just to update you on this issue, your proposal to refer to BCP47 was
accepted by the WebFonts WG. The editors draft and the RNG have been
updated.

  The syntax of values of the xml:lang attribute can be found in BCP47
  [BCP47]. A user agent displaying metadata is expected to choose a
  preferred language/locale to display from among those available,
  following BCP47.

Note that in the current editors draft, BCP47 is currently listed as an
informative reference, but we intend to change this to normative.

It would be great if you could send an email message to www-font
acknowledging that this responds to your comment (for our last call
tracking purposes). We are now under some time pressure to close out
