Portlet tld support with FreeMarker

Hi all,
Iam developing portlet application with Spring Portlet Web MVC using 
Freemarker as the template for the view. Iam using Rational application 
developer version 7.

But it seems that Freemarker doesnot support the portlet.tld as Iam getting 
Invalid Reference Exception when Iam trying to use the portlet.tld in the 
Freemarker template page.

Iam trying to use the portlet tld as below.

<#assign portlet=JspTaglibs["http://java.sun.com/portlet"]> 

the exception says that the assignment is wrong.

can any one please let me know, whether FreeMarker supports the Portlet.tld or 
not.
