Except if you want to understand FP, not just enjoy that you can avoid
it...

Also, Scala suffers from the documentation problem as well, and then
it is a difficult and complex language. Yes, it does have a very
precise documentation, but mere mortal will not understand Scala from
there, as that's a dry language reference. There are some other
guides, with varying understandability and especially with very
limited scope, also some of them is simply outdated. Well, that was
like a year ago, but I don't think much has changed since then. But
then, Bill Vennels (the Artima guy) started to write a book about
Scala, focusing on the average Java programmer. You see, kind of
"Scala for Morals". And I said, at least, the main obstacle will be
addressed, this can raise the popularity if Scala *a lot*. It could be
something that could help it to break out from the university
laboratories, if you see what I mean. And then what happens? I see now
that it's nearly done, and it turns out that they want f***** money
for it! No, not just for the hard copy, but for the PDF download as
well! Disgusting. Because, the authors are: Martin Odersky, Lex Spoon,
and Bill Venners. What the... are these people live in, like, Ukraine
that they need that money so much or what? You see one would believe
that these people were genuinely interested in creating and/or
spreading a technically good language, but then they do this... Sorry,
I'm just pretty much angry about this.
