BTW, I think they should depend on "[2.3.14,2.4)".

So, you need this for looking into the source code with ctrl+click and
for the JavaDoc "hints", and that's all. Right?

As of 2.3.14 the Maven artifacts and the POM are generated and upload
by the ant build.xml. (If someone cares, from line 858:
http://freemarker.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/freemarker/branches/2.3/freemarker/build.xml?view=markup)
I guess it will not be hard to extend that script to release the
sources too.
