Was the JDom support removed/deprecated?

I am using ROME (RSS utility) which return JDom elements it some of their
apis. When looking at Freemarker, I found the
NodeListModel<http://freemarker.sourceforge.net/docs/api/freemarker/ext/jdom/NodeListModel.html>for
JDOM, but it says it is deprecated in favor of NodeModel which seems
to
support only w3c DOM.

Am I missing something?

Also, I was under the impression that if one of my bean/object returned a
XML Element (JDOM or W3C Dom) the wrapping into a NodeListModel or NodeModel
would be automatic. On this one I think I am missing something. Any
explanation greatly appreciated.
