Rendering Registered Symbol

Hi All,

     I'm having an issue where I want to put a registered symbol (®, 
html &reg) inside of an xhtml document using freemarker. I tried using 
the ?xhtml escape, but this character is not escaped by using this. I 
looked at some of the others but they all seem to have a relatively 
small subset of characters that they support. Is there anyway in 
freemarker to escape a character like this?
