Question about 'eval'

Hi,
I'm trying to provide an FTL template String in the model and then evaluate
it in the template file. The doco seems to suggest I can use "?eval" to
accomplish this but it doesn't seem to work.
For example;
- I add "testing 123 ${hello}" to the model under the name "template"
- I add "foobar" to the modal under the name "hello"
- I then attempt to process a FM file with the following content:
> <#include "TemplateHeader.fm">
> ${template?eval}
> <#include "TemplateFooter.fm">
The following error is raised:
> freemarker.core.ParseException: Encountered "123" at line 2, column 12 in
> ...
Anyone have any ideas what I'm doing wrong?
