Re: autocompletion

Well, I like it the way it is right now :-)

Autocomplete non-ambiguous as you type and show the drop-down on
one tab.

I personally see nothing wrong with having prefs for autocomplete
behaviour. It's pretty clear to me that this is preferences in
this regard are rather idiosyncratic; Even with the (hidden) prefs
that are currently available, Tommi's desired behaviour isn't possible.
And if, as Ricardo indicates, we need to offer the ability to use
something other than tab for accessibility reasons, we will definitely
need a pref, though I assume that we would do this by registering our
keyboard shortcuts and letting the control centre handle the UI.

I think there is validity some validity in arguing that there should be
a default automatic dropdown for newbies to discover that the feature
exists, but I find it annoying, and the price of getting me to accept
a default that I'm not going to use *will* be a UI pref; I'm not
interested in being treated as a second class user by programs I
write.

I think Alan's timeout idea might be a credible option for default
behaviour but I'm not sure at this time.
