It is not the same case than in the shell, because here we can show a different window without causing scroll or disturbing the user too much. I understand that some people don't like automatically showing the window at all. So, I think we should add a pref for this (actually, unhide the current pref). This is not a case that can get it to "just work" for everyone. Repeat with me: adding a pref is not the end of the world. The heuristic completions is an idea from Matt Aubury that was implemented in galeon 1, but I don't think it was useful at all.
