It seems to me it was already that way. spacebar -> pagedown, 
shift+spacebar -> pageup. And it runs
If not for you, this might be your mozilla install which is bad.
Look in a file named htmlBindings.xml (located at 
$(prefix)/lib/mozilla-$(version)/res/builtin/htmlBindings.xml)
you should found something like


      <handler event="keypress" key=" " modifiers="shift" 
command="cmd_scrollPageUp" />
      <handler event="keypress" key=" " command="cmd_scrollPageDown" />
