Can not get evolution to work as e-mail program

I am working with RedHat 8.0, Galeon 1.26 en Evolution 1.0.8. In Galeon
I use for e-mail program '/usr/bin/evolution "%u"'. (I tried severall
other variants.) But everytime I click on a mailto link galeon opens a
window with:
'chrome://messenger/content/messengercompose/messengercompose.xul'.
What is going wrong here?
