Hello,
I've tried to switch to gtk2, so I compile everything,
gnome-2.2, mozila-1.3 (with Xft) and galeon-1.3 (both 1.3.3 and latest
CVS), and although gnome-2.2 and mozilla-1.3 are working perfectly I'm
unable to even start galeon-1.3, it just crash with a seg fault. I've
tried to delete everything from previous installation, even start it in
a new user with nothing in ~/, but I have the same problem. I tried to
debug it, and using gdb I found that the galeon-bin was getting SIGSEGV
in the mozilla_prefs_set_boolean function I put a return TRUE; at the
beggining of it and it SIGSEGV at mozilla_prefs_set_int, repeat the
same, and it SIGSEGV at mozila_prefs_set_string, repeat the same and it
fails at galeon-embed-utils.c, line 269:
edata->encoding = info->name;
So I suppose something is not correctly initialized. The
backtrace for the last SIGSEGV is:
#0 galeon_embed_utils_build_charsets_submenu (ui_component=0x81d9598,
path=0x827aa30 "", fn=0x827aa30, data=0x81d0cb8)
at galeon-embed-utils.c:269
#1 0x08080c9e in galeon_window_init (window=0x81d0cb8) at
galeon-window.c:939
#2 0x45952cac in g_type_create_instance ()
from /usr/local/gnome2/lib/libgobject-2.0.so.0
#3 0x00000001 in ?? ()
#4 0x081818a8 in ?? ()
the other SIGSEG couldn't be backtraced (the back command in gdb
only returns the name of the function and ??)
I could provide more info upon request,
Regards,
- german
