As much fun as it might be to to reinvent wheel over and over again,
it's nothing but a waste of resources.  Galeon is a gnome browser; if
gnome provides something we can use, we'll use it.  It's not only
because we're lazy, but because in the big picture it benefits the user.

I don't know about you but I've grown to hate being forced to configure
everything individually for all related applications.  Proxies, MIME
handlers, colors, fonts, etc...  Next time you want to try another
browser (epiphany?) you'd have to go through everything again.  It just
isn't sane.

You don't have to install gnome control center to configure common stuff
for gnome, but it does make it simpler.  You can manage proxies quite
easily with gconftool or gconf-editor, but MIME handlers are more
complex.  Galeon is a gnome browser and as such we delegate and share as
much as we can with the common infrastructure, that's the whole point.
