In Galeon1 you can use the Emacs Ctrl+u keybinding to clear any active line.
Just place the cursor on the location line and type Ctrl+u.

In Galeon2, you need to activate Emacs keybindings first. Open the GNOME
"Keyboard Shortcuts" config menu and in "Text editing shortcuts" select "Emacs".

I don't use Galeon2 (I'm too stuck on Galeon1), so I'm not certain that this
will work. It does work with other GNOME2 apps, though.
