Yeah, but given that even a glib or libxml dependency can upset some
person outside GNOME, and given that writing code without using glib or
libxml is a pita imo, that might not be doable easily.

For my part, I wish there was a gnome-wide bookmark daemon available to
whatever app needs bookmarks ;)
