A few comments on that patch, though I'm aware that you are not the author of it, this is for the record :) You are leaking the string returned by gnome_vfs_uri_extract_dirname, and calling gnome_vfs_unescape would probably better than gnome_vfs_escape_for_display. But these are minor details, the difficult part was to pinpoint what was going wrong :) Thanks!
