Multiple languages:  Yes, it is as you expect.  The language setting here
is used to tell any remote web server which languages you like, and in which
order.  So if a page is available in german, danish and english, I can set up
galeon to tell the web-server to give me the danish one (even though my
primary language is norwegian).

The default coding is as far as I can understand, the coding of any given
web page that doesn't explicitly specify it's encoding itself.  This is
quite common in e.g. Norway, where everyone used to assume that the user
was using ISO-Latin-1.

I don't know what the Autodetect encoding-setting does...
