Thanks. Crispin Flowerday also sent me some info on the switch, and the problem is now corrected here. That it was off is probably due to the fact that I previously had galeon 1.2 installed on the box and had the switch turned off explicitly in the galeon UI. Thanks for the references to the README file. The galeon READMEs weren't saved by gentoo after the build so I retrieved them from source. I'd like to see the smart_bm_clear switch reinstated also, but if I have the history available I can live with it. If we can get the Clear Location tool reinstated I'll be a happy camper.
