Hi, I'm writing this mail on account of a friend who has some trouble with galeon. On his system, galeon runs fine for most users except one. For this user, it crashes immediately during start-up. He has tried to rename that users home dir, create a new one, and start Gnome again. On restarting Gnome, everything was created new -- but galeon crashed nevertheless. Therefor, he assumes that the error has nothing to do with whatever might have been in the home dir. Here the output of galeon started from an xterm: jones@wintermute:~$ galeon Bonobo accessibility support initialized GTK Accessibility Module initialized Atk Accessibilty bridge initialized ** (galeon-bin:15047): WARNING **: I could not load the bookmarks file, will load the default bookmarks from /usr/share/galeon/default-bookmarks.xbel. ** (galeon-bin:15047): CRITICAL **: file pango-color.c: line 952 (pango_color_parse): assertion `spec != NULL' failed ** (galeon-bin:15047): CRITICAL **: file pango-color.c: line 952 (pango_color_parse): assertion `spec != NULL' failed Bonobo accessibility support initialized GTK Accessibility Module initialized Atk Accessibilty bridge initialized jones@wintermute:~$ Finally, galeon crashes with a memory access error. What could be wrong there? BTW, as he is not subscribed to the list, it would be nice if you could CC him...
