Well, I can't speak to how it ever worked, but looking at the mozilla code,
I can readily see why it does not work and what change in mozilla would be
required to fix it.

Replace

 nsIWebNavigation::LOAD_FLAGS_NONE

with

 nsIWebNavigation::LOAD_FLAGS_ALLOW_THIRD_PARTY_FIXUP
