What in practice I want to happen ...

Ok so now I posted the abstract rationale. These are the things I want to happen for 2.0 to match my vision more. Feature freeze is not far (2 weeks), so it's probably worth getting decisions soon. - Removal of web developers specific features. I want consoles to be removed from the ui (can still accessible with javascript: ...). If it's useful to avoid a fork of this part we can keep Page source in the menu. After all IE is used for web pages development and it's this way (I think). It would make a lot more sense to have a separate galeon-webdev package ihmo that would add these functionalities and others mozilla already provides. Prolly too later for the freeze unless someone want to work on it. - Removal of galeon specific sessions handling. We will obviously keep to support gnome session. - Simplification of mime handling. The start point is the interface I have with the just-vfs option. I would be fine if it's added a way to select another gnome vfs handler from a list (maybe a checkbox or a button with another dialog), esp if this avoid a fork of this part. I cant promise I'll hack it though. Two weeks are not much and I have to be able to get out a release also. - The applications page is an UI mess. I think support for legacy mailers in the ui should be dropped (It's really too confusing... clear from the bug reports we are getting). I'm not sure about external downloader support. Mime types editor will be remove for the prvious point. To make a decision I think we really need a matching list from Ricardo and Philip. And obviously their position about these points I did.
