Unfortunately, yes. Somone has seen fit to remove the application that
lets you change MIME type associations, God only knows why.

I had to install Nautilus just for this purpose (I don't use GNOME as a
desktop, Galeon is the only GNOME app I use).

If I have the time, I'm going to figure out how the MIME types work now,
and write an app to set them manually.

Hmmm, dunno. "RealAudio broadcast" was the MIME type I wanted to change
(.ram file) and it worked.

I have had trouble with .m3u files, however.  If I click on them in
Nautilus, it launches XMMS and they work perfectly. But in Galeon, XMMS
launches and then puts up a file dialog, asking what file to play. I
know this is something to do with XMMS not being able to interpret URLs,
but I can't figure out what to give it in the Nautilus prefs dialog to
make it work.
