Well, with Galeon, so long as you've got a given window open, your
session persists.  See followup, there's a -s / --server option for
quickstart.

For me the metaphor sheer of "why won't the last tab close like the
other ones did" is more severe than "why can't I keep the browser
running" (which it pretty much always is anyway.
