There's another, not so widely known, mechanism for theming gnome
applications. Namely, you can put your gtkrc in ~/.gnome2/${appname}rc,
where appname is the application binary name without the path.
For galeon the file would be ~/.gnome2/galeonrc (or
~/.gnome2/galeon-binrc for the releases that still had separate
galeon-bin)
