RE: Galeon 1.3.21
Stuff From FAQ:
FAQ:
How do I save my current session?
...
FAQ:
How can I get rid of the text in the toolbar?
...
And Finally:
FAQ:
Where have all the preferences gone?
Answer:
Galeon 1.3 is designed to be simpler to use and configure for the average
user. This has meant that some preferences that were in Galeon 1.2 are no
longer available. However, quite a lot of preferences are available, they
just don't have a user interface.
For information on these hidden preferences, look in the README.ExtraPrefs
file that is distributed with galeon. The current CVS version of this file
is also available online. The online version may be slightly different from
your local copy, as features are added and changed.
* Use gconf-editor to edit Galeon preferences manually. Try the
following command:
gconf-editor /apps/galeon
* For many advanced (Mozilla) preferences/features, put about:config
into the (Galeon) location entry.
????????????????????????????????
This is simpler?!?!?!?!?!?!? BAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The more everyone tries to make Linux and OS apps look like MacroSquash and
it's aps the more it SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I once, until I encountered all these 'improvements', thought that GALEON
was the best browser on the planet.... Now it SUCKS!
SUCKS!
SUCKS!
SUCKS!
Ick.............
Why not provide MODES? MODES are great when it comes to User Interfaces.
With them you don't overwhelm the NUUUBies and you don't drive the more
advanced users CRAZY!
Give the option as to how we want to approach changing our UI.
What a mess.........
thnx,
mds
