Gecko's useable and maintained, but GTK+ WebCore doesn't seem to compile (for me) and seems to lack developers. I suspect if the Galeon developers wanted to switch, they'd have to start mantaining too much of their rendering engine, too. Though I'd be happy to see it pick up some steam.
