Well I noticed that the code is a little 'rough' to say the least. Despite being pushed as the 'fastest browser around', it tends to bork if ANY CFLAGS or LDFLAGS are used to tweak or customize the build. Personally, since I compile most of the code for this box, I like to link all GCC code with libots. This prevents any problems since most of the core of my OS is built with Compaq C. That's part of the reason I was so surprised when ever I attempted to link against libots. I would get so many funky errors it wasn't even funny. Such as the linker rolling snake eyes stating the "-O3 is an unrecognized option" or "/usr/lib/firefox-1.0.4 not recognized. Not a file or dir". So basically what I did was, I went ahead and compiled everything with the default settings then went in to the individual object dirs and rebuilt those portions with cflags/ldflags...that was the only way to get it to build that way I needed it. RECAP: I think the problem with the code is two fold. The Mozilla code is somewhat 'touchy' at best and two, CFLAGS/LDFLAGS aren't being carried over properly from one build dir to the next [aka funky Makefiles and Configure script. Well talk to you later, and thanks for the tip... You should try building against a new version of Firefox, such as 1.0.6 Crispin ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by xPML, a groundbreaking scripting language that extends applications into web and mobile media.
