Almost all fonts on this website work for me OK:

http://www.columbia.edu/kermit/utf8.html

The only that do not work are: Telugu, Burmese, Khmer,
Mongolian (Classic), Tibetan, kyundaw and kyanma.

I'm no debian testing. I didn't do anything to get it to work.
It worked previously on debian stable too. I have galeon 2.0.7
