I have Gallery 3 running on Windows/IIS. It's a shared hosting
account, so I don't know the specifics of the setup, or if they've used
the download linked in the original message. Directory separators
don't seem to be a problem. My host has something called ISAPI_Rewrite
installed, which allows Galleys .htaccess files to work properly (I
think this is like a $100 add-on so that might still be a problem for
other users). The only problem I ran into was with the "Platform
information" screen on the admin dashboard (which this fixes
http://codex.gallery2.org/Gallery3:Modules:win_platform ).
