Hello,

htdig 3.16 comes with libdb2 (Version 2.6.4) it statically links
against. I have managed to unbundle this Berkley DB libraries without
much problem, I now (dynamically) link against the libdb2 package in
debian. To build, libdb2-dev seems to be required. The whole db direcory
can safely be deleted, as this is now provided by the external library.

The debian libdb2(-dev) packages (Version 2.7.7.0) come with a standard,
3-clause BSD-style license. Also, htdig will be able ot benefit from
improvements in the libdb2 code. Unfortunately, it does not link against
newer versions of the library (V3 or V4), the interface has changed there.

Robert
