I think it has 500 MB but I'm not positive. I think the main reason for not using OS X is that we use Linux for all our other servers and the sys admin wanted it to be consistent. That, and in order to use Remote Desktop for administering you (I think) need to pay for the $500 OS X Server, which in this case costs roughly as much as the machine to run it on. :) If the problem is the slow disk drives then using OS X probably isn't going to help. But if it's something in Yellow Dog Linux, then it might.
