I don't think that there is any simple way to do this. You would either
need to hack the source code that performs the template substitution or
move the search into some sort of custom wrapper script that handled all
of the presentation, including any necessary database calls. Although
somewhat dated, the following article contains some useful information
on wrapping searches.
