500 Internal Server Error

I get the subject error executing htsearch from php. This error occurs only on the RedHat server box (I can't read its logs), while it works fine on my Debian box. I don't think it's php-config related, because other helloworld binary cgis are well executed on the server. Does hesearch require any dynamic lib not installed on the server? Any advice? Still waiting the server administrator's call.
