Eons ago I put a good bit of effort into making sure running Tidy on its
own output does not lead to further changes; it really should not do it,
but it's not a huge problem and the code for this is, as I recall it,
spread throughout the code base, so fixing this without new bugs would
probably be a bit involved; I would probably recommend against spending
much time on it; though I am a bit puzzled by some of the differences in
your analysis, it seems to even retain <p> elements containing nothing
but white space, and there seems to be some problem with the doctype
logic that should not be that difficult to figure out. Perhaps this has
something to do with the configuration options chosen (ignoring the ones
where there are doctype issues, indentation generally seems to be turned
on, I don't think I did that when I fixed some of these issues).
