XML Tidy: report of possible bug

I'm attaching 2 XML documents that throw errors when I try to run XML Tidy.
XML Tidy is run as a Tool from within EditPad Pro 6.7.0 on my system.

I suspect that both cases involve the inability to handle a "]]]" string that occurs at the tail end of a <Diss_title> element.


XML Tidy generates these error messages from MR56215.xml:

This document has errors that must be fixed before
using HTML Tidy to generate a tidied up version.

Please note that I have found workarounds for these errors:  temporarily changing one pair of square brackets within the <Diss_title> element, so that XML Tidy could run error-free.
So I can manage to get my work done, but I just thought you might like to know about these thrown errors that I suspect may be bogus.

The thesis uses his definition of the non-place to describe Union Station as a threshold into the city, a place of passing in which there is an undeniable sense of alienation. Yet the thesis is critical of Aug&eacute;&rsquo;s inadequacy to describe and capture the essential meaning of the non-place, and the significance of its alienation, as he ultimately only describes the conditions particular to our capitalist structures leading to globalization and which though in effect dominate its experience, are nonetheless not of its essence. The thesis turns to social theorist Siegried Kracauer&rsquo;s text on the &ldquo;hotel lobby&rdquo; to truly grasp an understanding of the non-place phenomenon as a place of ambiguity, of infinite possibility out of which we in part choose how to structure relations in society. The ambiguity which Kracauer describes liberates understanding of the non-place from its economic grasp and allows it to be considered as a place where many different relationships can take place with many different structures. ^   Different ways for the conscious city to structure relations in the non-place are investigated. First interpretive narratives identify the structures by which we experience alienation in Union Station&rsquo;s monumental head house, underground concourses and platforms. Then, similar structures are found in different sites of Toronto where they are reconsidered from a perspective based on connectivity. Various interventions expressed through drawings, photographs and text explore how to re-negotiate these structures through an architectural language that enables instead of denies the experience of contact. ^   The thesis concludes that the ability to create connections is contingent on the ability to accept the unknown and face the fear of things we cannot control. The final design considers the non-place as a place where this paradox can be embodied and its significance drawn out. It proposes to renovate, develop and expand Union Station as an architectural agent of otherness. Responding to the current political crisis which Aug&eacute; alludes to, the thesis turns the diagram of his argument inside out by providing a resolution to alienation in an architectural expression of its acceptance. Extending upon the ability to engage with new things and be open to deeper connections, at Union Station Toronto can integrate into its fabric a sense of the unknown and include an existential awareness of the outside. This central role of CCT&alpha; in synthesizing PtdCho underlies its physiological importance in processes such as lipoprotein and lung surfactant synthesis and cell proliferation, survival and development. Therefore, understanding CCT&alpha; regulation is a necessary step in elucidating the pathophysiology of atherosclerosis, respiratory disorders and cancer. Regulation of CCT&alpha; is mainly controlled by a membrane binding (M) domain that binds to membranes enriched in lipid activators. The enzyme predominantly resides in the nucleus but translocates to the nuclear envelope (NE) and cytoplasm during farnesol (FOH)-induced apoptosis, the G<sub> 0</sub> to G<sub>1</sub> transition of the cell cycle or in response to lipid activators. In the nucleus, CCT&alpha; is required for proliferation of a double membrane network derived from the NE and endoplasmic reticulum (ER) called the nucleoplasmic reticulum (NR). We showed that oleate activation of CCT&alpha; translocates the enzyme to the NE, where CCT&alpha; membrane binding and lamins (LMNs) proliferate the NR. PtdCho synthesis was not necessary for membrane expansion since catalytically dead mutants of CCT&alpha; with increased membrane affinity proliferated intranuclear membrane. Though knockdown of LMNA/C or B1 reduced NR proliferation, it had no effect on PtdCho synthesis, suggesting the NR was not a major site of PtdCho synthesis. To determine why CCT&alpha; exits the nucleus and the importance of CCT&alpha; domains in the process, we demonstrated that FOH and high concentrations of oleate translocated CCT&alpha; to the NE, NR and cytoplasm, indicating nuclear export resulted from enzyme activation and required membrane binding. Indeed, nuclear export was regulated by membrane affinity, and CCT&alpha; mutants lacking domain M or with decreased membrane affinity showed reduced nuclear export. Finally, CCT&alpha; localization was studied in response to oxysterols. Treatment of cells with 22- (22-OH), 25- (25-OH), or 26-hydroxycholesterol (26-OH) localized CCT&alpha; to the NE and NR and stimulated PtdCho synthesis, and in vitro vesicles containing these hydroxycholesterols promoted CCT&alpha; activation.
