Thanks for the reply, I hadn't even thought about the multi-threaded distinction between functional and load testing. That makes perfect sense. I was researching this for a colleague so I will pass it on. At work, I use HttpUnit in combination with JUnitPerf and JUnit to drive both functional tests and performance tests for an Intranet application. I found HttpUnit to be a very useful tool for the functional tests, because of all of the verification that we wanted to do. Using HttpUnit, we were able to compare HTML field values with our expected values. I also found HttpUnit to be very useful when writing performance tests because of the ability to use the existing functional tests but drive them with multiple threads by way of JUnitPerf. Remember, testing a single use case is a functional test, testing 100 use cases at the same time is a load test! :-) Simon On 4/17/06, [email protected] <[email protected]> wrote: > > > > Can HTTP Unit be used to perform performance tests on a website, or is there > a better tool out there? > > > > Rob Whitener > > Test Automation Specialist > > GXS > > 2701 N Rocky Point Rd. > > Tampa, FL. 33607 > > 813-496-3513 > > -- www.simonpeter.org ------------------------------------------------------- Using Tomcat but need to do more?
