Thanks for the reply, I hadn't even thought about the multi-threaded
distinction between functional and load testing.  That makes perfect
sense.  I was researching this for a colleague so I will pass it on.

Sorry for being late to answer this question, but I just wanted to
throw in my two cents.

At work, I use HttpUnit in combination with JUnitPerf and JUnit to
drive both functional tests and performance tests for an Intranet
application.

I found HttpUnit to be a very useful tool for the functional tests,
because of all of the verification that we wanted to do. Using
HttpUnit, we were able to compare HTML field values with our expected
values.

I also found HttpUnit to be very useful when writing performance tests
because of the ability to use the existing functional tests but drive
them with multiple threads by way of JUnitPerf. Remember, testing a
single use case is a functional test, testing 100 use cases at the
same time is a load test! :-)
